Is a permit required to climb Island Peak?
Once we reach the summit, we’ll enjoy stunning views of Makalu, Lhotse, Amadablam, and the other Himalayas ranges. The hike will be around 5 kilometers and will take us 5-6 hours to complete. Dingboche is surrounded by some of the most stunning scenery in the Everest Region, with views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Makalu, and Island Peak. We’ll spend the day exploring the village, visiting the local monastery, and perhaps even taking a short hike to nearby Nangkartshang Gompa (5,090m/16,700ft).
